First one of the year! #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Took one of my daughters turkey hunting here in Missouri for the first time yesterday. It was my first chance to turkey hunt this year too. Took much longer than we wanted but it all worked out and she did good sticking it out. Didn’t kill him until noon. I had a great time with her and she got to see some good action.

Rhino Ground Blinds Customer Service #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I broke a rod on my Rhino XP-1 blind last Monday. I had originally bought the blind in 2013. Anyway on Wednesday evening I placed an order for a replacement rod, the cost was $ 24.99 which included shipping. This morning I received the new rod at the Post Office here in western Kansas. In my opinion, that is top notch customer service. I had broken a rod about 3 years ago as well, and received the same type of service. Very satisfied.

Prime Centergy initial set-up #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Just took possession of a Prime Centergy. Not my first Prime, but I am having a few set up issues right out of the gate.

1)I understand to time the cams, the stops need to be set all the way to the back position. When I do this on the Centergy, the stops still don’t quite touch after the cam rolls over and it is at full draw. I really have to pull into the back wall to get the stops to set but it actually feels like it’s at full draw about 1/8" off the stops. Is this normal? My Rival and Alloy never did this.

2)The ATA of the bow is at 33.5" but the manual says it should be 33.25". That is a ton of slack to take up in the cables from my experience. Anyone else finding their numbers off by this much or is it just my bow?

Dyeing Army ACU camo (so it is useful) #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Everybody hates the Army’s ACU camo that doesn’t blend in with anything other than desert sage. I live on the east coast and this stuff is worthless out here. Most of the time when folks get out of the military they more or less give it away.

I saw a video on youtube about dyeing ACUs and thought I would try it out yesterday. I used 1 bottle of Kelly Green and half a bottle of dark brown RIT dye. I heated up the water on the stove and mixed the dye and the water in a bucket and let the ACUs soak for about an hour. I cut all the velcro off the tops so it will make less noise. I may try them out early season this year. I have a few more sets so I will play around with different color dyes to see what works best.

I was pretty happy with how the first set came out.

If this has been covered before, I missed it and sorry for the old news.

Black Eagle Spartan build? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’m looking to go with Spartan arrows this year. I don’t have the OT2 program yet. Was hoping somebody would be willing to run some numbers for me.

This will be for hunting and I use fixed blade heads.

I have a Prodigy; 70#, 28" draw, comfort & classic setting (so IBO either 330 or 337/8), have 2 monkey tails, tie-in nock set, and d-loop on string.

The arrow I’m looking at;
Spartan 250
29" carbon-to-carbon cut
Spartan SS R-Nock Bushing
Easton X Nock
5" Reflective Wrap
3 Flex Fletch FFP 360 vanes
Spartan 26gr SS Insert
75gr or 30gr weight added
100gr tip

The tattletale (game cam) said they have been at the stand between 8-10PM 11 of the last 13 nights, so I think it is time I let the Snuffer eat–report to follow.

Center of pressure in the grip? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Kinda a weird question for you all. I’m wondering about getting the center of pressure of my grip right in the center of the riser on my shots. I’ve got my wrist bent and my knuckles at a 45, my grip looks great. But for some reason, if I put the pressure of my grip right in the center of the riser (left to right) my forearm rotates into the way of the string. I can see my arrows missing right because my center of pressure is slightly off to the left (towards bow arm, shooting righty) Torque tuning has helped, but I’d like to fix the problem instead of band-aid it.
