Back after a few years of no bow practice.. #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Ok guys, So after a few years of no bow practice, no archery at all in my system, I am interested in getting back into it.. I went from starting out with a Pse Stinger 3g, to a Pse Stinger x, to a G5 Prime Ion 60 lb, then ended my archery sport with a customized G5 Prime rival.. At the end of my experience in the past I did however push myself too far and cranked down the poundage on my prime rival to see how I could do but over did myself and I injured my shoulder causing me to get out of the sport due and needing the money and having to sell all my stuff.. so im looking at getting back on the horse slowly.. Its been 3 years now and I think im ready, but im afraid my shoulder pain might come back. so I’ve decided to get another Pse Stinger x and start shooting again slowly..I didn’t really want to spend all kinds of loot on a expensive setup so this is what I have to work with for now.. I guess the reason for this post is to see if there’s anything im missing as far as starting back out after being off the horse for a while with injury and all.. When I was shooting before I was happy at around 55-62 lbs for target shooting, while sometimes I would try to crank it up to 70 lbs and im not sure if it was the poundage that hurt me or if it was because I was trying too hard to be a good shooter that I would shoot for hours at a time spending most my time shooting on my free time. I have been out of the sport a while, and looks like there’s been a lot of new stuff coming out.. starting out with the Use Stinger X is just to see how it feels. it was a cheap setup that was handed to me, so I do plan on eventually getting another decent shooter .. can anyone recommend any techniques that will help me get my form back? how long before I will be shooting good again? Will this be any easy come back? Or will my shoulder pain come back?? I really need a new hobby and I loved to shoot when I did. any help would be great!! thanks in advance!!
My setup as of now..

back after 30 years, just a couple questions #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

So I last shot a compound bow sometime in college was shooting a Darton SL50 at the time. Life took over, 4 kids etc..

Finally got back into last year about this time. Going to climb back in a tree again this year (was 17 the last time I got a deer).

I can’t believe the technology and the power in the more modern bows.

Anyway to my questions:

I am shooting at 70 pounds with black eagle x impacts so far so good but want to shoot indoor 300 this winter. I have noticed those arrows often go through the bail and into the plywood back stop. So here is the question I am looking at getting arrows for indoor, fat ones but can’t seem to find anything that will go long enough. My draw length is 31.5. My thought is the fatter arrows will slow down in the target quicker and may cut an extra line here or there. Any suggestions on arrows to look at? So far it looks like all are about max of 30"?

The second question is about lighted nocks. Anyone found some that they really like in the skinny arrows mine have .165 inner diameter. Any suggestions at which to look at?

Thanks

Anti’s going after Fedex,Amazon Etc because of their support of the NRA #archery

Well looks like the Anti’s are going to try and put an economic squeeze on Companies that support the NRA by Boycotting them!
Amazon, FedEx , Apple(that surprises me) and I imagine other companies that give support to the NRA and its members are the targets .
Myself i am going to look and see what I might need or want from those companies to show my support for them.

problem after switching drop away rests #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I just switched my from a QAD LD ultra rest on my Mathews monster 7 to a QAD HDX because i had it. After putting it on and doing some adjustments i tried paper tuning it. i couldn’t get two arrows that told me the same thing, one may tail an inch to the left and the nest would go 4 inch the other way. i shot probably 30 arrows while adjusting some things and couldn’t get a better result. i went as far as taking a slo-mo of it to see if my veins were hitting the rest or if it wasn’t dropping fast enough but neither seemed to be the problem… the only thing i saw that may be the issue is the string to the release is a bit thinner than the one i had on it before and there may be enough slack in the string to come up and catch the veins.

Is there something i can do fix this? or something else that may be causing the problem?

The 200+ I was after…

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Well, sad news… The buck I was after met his maker and I unfortunately had nothing to do with it. Not sure what caused him to die, but to just know he was out there, and attempt to outsmart a buck of this size… Well, it’s an experience I’m not sure I will have the opportunity at again. That said, I’m blessed to have experienced it and the story on this giant has officially come to an end.

Even after rodents, he scored a little over 190. Being conservative, he has another 25 inches chewed off.

This is his rack next to a 131 just to show how truly massive this buck was. I also have the field pic of the 131 I shot for reference.

Body of country singer Craig Strickland found after days of searching

Published January 04, 2016FoxNews.com

The body of country singer Craig Strickland was found on Monday, authorities confirmed to FOX411.

Strickland was the lead singer of the Arkansas-based country-rock band Backroad Anthem. He disappeared during severe storms on Dec. 27 while on a duck hunting trip with friend Chase Morland.

The pair’s capsized boat was found that day. Morland’s body was recovered from the lake on Dec. 28.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division found Strickland’s body Monday morning, authorities said.

"Strickland’s body was located within the original search area known as Bear Creek Cove," authorities stated.

The singer’s wife shared the news on Twitter.

The country singer was 29. He is survived by his wife, Helen.

After market grip for chill X?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Just wondering if there’s a better grip out there for me. I like the focus grip but use a low wrist position, was thinking of the adjustable shrewd grip but don’t know if it’s worth the $ 100 asking price. But I do like the idea of having 12 degrees of adjustability.
