Need some advice

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I looking to buy another bow but I want a speed bow this time.
My draw is 28" and I’d like to pull 60 pounds.
I can shoot the minimum weight arrow if needed but I already have a boat load of arrows in the 380 grain range.
My question is this..
What bows should I target to get in the 315+fps range, or is that even possible?
Most likely looking for a used bow probably no older than 5 years yrs old

Could use some advice

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

So I was hoping to draw on from some experience by you guys about the right arrow for my recurve. I recently got a Super Ghost and would like to get a bit more serious about tuning and do bare shaft tuning. I’ve always just gone with the charts and ran with it.

I was going to go with the eclipse’s but the 2612′s don¬ít seem to have very much for field tip options and I just plan on doing target and 3D for now and the 2512 seem to have the same problem and were on the week side for spine. So I thought about switching over to carbon and going with the 340 spine lightspeeds since they use a 5/16 field points.

The bow is 60in and 55lb@28in but I draw 62@31in and would it be ok to shoot broad heads on the lightspeeds down the road?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

New Archer seeking advice

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I just got my first bow ever, it is a PSE stalker 60" 40lb bow. I’m wanting to learn how to become good at shooting off the shelf but I am not sure if this method is recommended for this bow or not. Could somebody give me some information about this? It is the way I have been practicing to shoot and I have only been doing this for a little over a week now.

Also I have came across some problems im not quite sure why they are accuring. A lot of times when I my arrows don’t seem to fly strait they will wobble and stick into my target crooked. Im thinking its because I havnt had a chance to purchase any good quality arrows, right now im shooting cheap arrows that have vanes and not feathers? Also they may not be a good spine weight, They are carbon express arrows from walmart and they say 4560…im guessing that’s 45-60lb draw rating on them? And I know I don’t have the best mechanics/release yet cause im still very new to this so im sure there is a lot of factors in this. Could I also get some feedback on this as well please? Tnanks.

Advice on arrows for 35lb recurve

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I just purchased the Samick Sage 35lb recurve. I am not entirely sure what type of arrows to buy for this bow. Would aluminum or carbon be better? I do like feather fletchings over the veins but I am not sure how long they should be. I was told that I should be using 600 spine arrows. I would like to get decent arrows, but I don’t want to spend over $ 100 for a dozen arrows. Does any one have any suggestions for arrows and where I could possibly buy them online? The store I went to told me I had at 28" draw length. I am still fairly new to archery and I would love to learn as much as I can about it so any help would be much appreciated :D . Thank you.

Found a Mountaineer Archery bow in the attic. Need some advice.

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

So, I was looking in the attic a few weeks ago and found a very nice bow that my grandfather bought 20+ years ago just before he died. It is in immaculate condition. It was only used a couple of times. (he died a couple months after acquiring it) Having been stored for so long the string is not serviceable. It is heads and shoulders above my pawn shop find that I use now. It is complete with case and tool kit and everything. (bird droppings aside) Can you guys give me a push in the right direction as to where to start getting it back into service?

Markings are as follows:

Mountaineer STD
Ranger 3-D
Hyper-Flite PRO

Draw 29-31
Weight 55-70
string 58
Cable 44
Let-off 80

The draw was about an 1.5in long for me. I know nothing about these things. I shoot them, but I have never worked on one. Any information about the bow itself is also greatly appreciated. Family heirlooms deserve a complete story.

Arrow advice please…

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Hi all-

I’m new to archerytalk.com, but not new to archery. I’m looking for advice on new arrows. I currently shoot the ACC 3-60. I have nothing to complain about with these arrows, other than the possible bending or denting. Every time I decide I want to go full carbon, I end up with more ACC shafts because that’s what I’m comfortable with. I mainly bow hunt, but shoot two to three 3D shoots a year, non competitive. My hunting arrow set up weighs in at 416 grains and I’m pushing them off the bow at 294 fps @ 29.5 dl and 69#s. I’m not necessarily looking to go lighter or gain speed, I just have no idea what arrows to even consider. These arrows hit game pretty dang hard, I think that’s the main reason I don’t switch.

So I guess what I’m looking for is a dual purpose arrow to hunt or shoot 3D with. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for any help and taking the time to read my post!
