How can I add arrow weight to front of my arrow, other than a heavier BH.

Adding Weight to Arrows #archery

Calculated my FOC last night and it is coming up at 8-9% with a 100 grain head. As you can imagine I want to increase that significantly for a hunting arrow. Total arrow weight is in the neighborhood of 400 grains.

The arrows are Buck Addiction by Victory. They are a 350 spine with a 6.2mm or .245" ID. What is the best way to add a good amount of weight to these arrows?

Does increasing tip weight (going from 115 grains to 200 grains of point and weighted insert) increase the FOC in a linear fashion? Say I add 50% more weight in the tip, does the FOC also increase by 50%?

I have played with the Victory spine calculator and my arrows should be able to hold more weight. My DL is fairly short and my bow is not a speed demon, so I think it will be okay.

I am hesitant to make big changes mid season, until I get a good setup I will continue shooting small fixed broadheads, but in the future I would like to shoot big mechs without worry of penetration. I spined a buck earlier this year, got plenty of penetration with a Montec, but my follow up shot with a Swacker did not pass through.

Looking to increase arrow weight with current arrows. Current setup is hoyt alphamax 35 with 27" draw length and pulling 65lbs. Arrows are gold tip hunter pro 340 8.9gpi. Arrows are 27.5" from nock grove to end of shaft. Arrows currently weigh 400. Would it be best just to add the weight to the gold tip insert? Was thinking about adding 50 grains to get too 450ish. Or will I need to get different arrows? Thanks

adding let-off

I was wondering if there was a way to add let off to the bow playing with the cable (twists or other).
I have a Vantage Elite.
Just looking for a couple pounds less at full draw while keeping the poundage the same.

Thanks

adding a few pounds

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hello all,
I recently made my youngster a little recurve. It looks pretty good but only pulls about ten pounds… he’s
only 3. he has a little silly plastic bow that is useless, it will barely launch an arrow 5 yards. He loves to shoot it and actually has pretty good form lol.
My question is. Will adding fiberglass to the back of the limbs give it more power.
thanks.

Adding weight to CB inserts for ICS bowhunter 500’s QUESTION

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Howdy-
I’ve got a friend who’s son uses ICS bowhunter 500’s and needs to do a science project on arrow penetration.

He’s testing penetration differences based on arrow weight, and needs the arrow from tip to tail to stay the same length.

The plan is to use a 75 grain tip on 3 different arrows and use insert weights to change arrow weight without changing overall length.

What would be best is an insert weight of 20 to 25 grains and another that totals around 50 grains.

Has anyone found a good system for CB inserts?

I found these on 3 Rivers-

and

http://www.3riversarchery.com/pdp+we…_baseitem.html

that need this adapter-

Anyone have a good recommendation?

Thanks!
