Shooting Accuracy out of a Saddle? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

For those who own a saddle how accurate are you when shooting from it. This has been one of my concerns and reasons for not buying one. Keeping good form and being able to shoot particularly at longer range or odd angles.

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

My set up is BT SR6.
70lb
29.5 dl
420gn 300 spine arrow.
Currently shoot g5 dead meet and wac em 4 blade

My current heads have great accuracy but I’m always looking for something better. I’m hoping to find a better blood trail but don’t want to give up accuracy

I’m looking at magnus black hornet or stinger.

Is one of those likely to fly better out of my set up. Which one is more accurate.

What are opinions on 2 blade vs 4?

Thanks as always

Archers advantage accuracy? #archery

I’m putting together a new setup, went to several charts online, including Easton and Black Eagle to find an optimum arrow spine for my rig, then went to the AA site, they couldn’t more different, now I’m just getting more confused:

Here is my rig, CD34 and or an E35 – 57lbs, 28.75" shaft and a 29" draw and 116 grain point weight.
Easton recommends a 400 spine as does Black Eagle but I’m using a 340 Axis 5mm and a Black Eagle Rampage 350, according to AA the 400 spines are too weak and the 340/350 spines are marginally too weak, AA recommends a 300 spine for both. Why such a wide discrepancy?

I have been shooting the 340 and 350 shafts and I’m not very consistent even at 20 yards – I should be stacking arrows at that distance – didn’t want to believe it was the arrows but now I’m not too sure? Any thoughts?

Broadhead Accuracy Inconsistent.

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

OK, I am going to give you as much information as I can as I am in desperate need of help. I have a 26.5 in draw. I purchased a BOWTECH BTX-28 set at 58 lbs and have paper tuned the bow and it is shooting bullets. I also completely zeroed in using field points at 10 thru 60 yard and am hitting 6 arrows at all ranges within a 4 inch bullseye area. My arrows are Gold Tip Velocity XT 300’s cut to 28.25 inches with 100 grain tips weighing a total of 420 grains each arrow with a +or- 0.2 grain of each other. I am coming up on a hunt so I purchased 100 grain Thunderheads and have this lined up with vanes and arrows weigh the same as above (420 grains +or- 0.2 grains each). I shot and the Broadheads are hitting very inconsistently. At 20 yards, two are low right (8 inches away from center, two are high right (6 inches away from center) and one is level with bullseye and 2 inches to the right). I have shot these same patterns multiple times. I followed advice from everything I have read and it stated lower draw weight. So I lowered it multiple times in about 1 lb increments to 52 lbs. No change in pattern. It stated use a stiffer spined arrow (actually did that by going to the Gold Tip Velocity 300 XT’s) originally started out with 400 Spined arrows. It also stated moving my rest to the left but with shooting bullets thru paper I really don’t want to do that. Guess what, with all these changes together or apart did not make a difference in the pattern of the arrows hitting the target. Finally I decided to "follow the arrow" with my sight as I want to make a humane kill so I figured I would just change my sight to make my broadheads hit center mass, guess what NO change in the pattern. What am I doing wrong?

will a custom recurve take you to the nexed level in accuracy

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hi. Ive been looking at a lot of custom recurves ….There are so many out there it blows my mind. My question is are they all show or are they going to out perform the company made recurve bows. It makes me drool at all the custom bows. They have amazing looks, styles, and choices. Then I see the prices and think well maybe a company made recurve will be OK. I know that its all up to how well you shoot. I have a bear and a Samick Sage recurve. the samick shoots great. A buddy of mine has a black widow and he can stack em. But im sure if he was left handed he would stack arrow with my samick also. I guess I’m just trying to get someone to talk me into a custom bow. If you have one I would like an honest answer if your are glad you got a custom or if you wish you saved the cash and bought a …name brand company made recurve. If you have an idea of what custom bow i should get it would sure help. Thanks

Recurve accuracy question…

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have been shooting a compound bow for several years and have always been intrigued by traditional archery. I pick up and old Bear Kodiak Hunter last year and have been playing with it ever since. I am still not very accurate with the bow. I sometime practice a lot, but still can only consistently hit a deer target vitals out to 10 or 12 yds. Past that consistency is poor.

I guess my question here is, what kind of accuracy should I be expecting from a recurve? I’d like to be consistent enough out to 20 yds to kill a deer.

bow length and accuracy

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Does a longer recurve make for a more accurate bow? I know that is often assumed but is it a real thing or is there an optimal bow for a person? I know for instance that stacking isn’t something I ever have to worry about. I have a 28 inch draw length so that isn’t something I would benefit from in a longer bow. With that in mind would I loose arrow speed with a longer recurve as I wouldn’t be flexing the limbs to the same extent as I would on a somewhat shorter bow.
Just trying to figure out if I would benefit from a 62 or 64 inch bow over say a 60 inch recurve which is what I have shot mostly.

Accuracy

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Lots is said about the needs, goals, limitations of an archer. I get that some guys are shooting heavier weights for hunting. I also get that guys pick and choose their aiming technique.

But at the end of the day, within the limitations of our aiming style and bow weight, the ultimate goal is to hit the spot where we are aiming.

Other than flight archery what possible goal is there other than to be as accurate as we possibly can be???

Matt
