The new string was here when I got here. Ignore my ugly nock, its the first time I tied one in on anything. I have put maybe 15-20 arrows through it and I am accurate to a 15" small square target at 17 yards. My block is sitting down at 80 and I haven’t walked down there to bring it up.
Right now I am shooting some older Axis arrows that I used to shoot with my compound. I think they are around 535 grains but I would screw in a 150 grain head to get me close to 600. I could also build some specific arrows, I think these are cut just a tad short.
The target is a small bag target. The arrows barley stick in. Is this a set up I could hunt with? I don’t really want to dive fully into traditional but I thought it would be cool to shoot something with an old bow my dad used to hunt with. I don’t think he ever killed a deer with it. There are a lot of does to shoot here in Iowa. Thoughts?
