Great first bow, August 9, 2012

Great bow. Easy to assemble, easy to fire. However, there were a few issues.

    – Arrow rest.
The arrow rest is plastic, and not well made. The plastic wears down after about an hour’s worth of shooting. Note: the bow universally accepts arrow rests, and there are plenty available, from Amazon to Academy.

    – Instructions.
The instructions on the construction of the bow were so-so. The instructions consist solely of a picture of where the parts fit together, with no accompanying text.

    – Stringing the bow.
If I didn’t have a friend that knew how to string a bow to show me how it’s done, I would have to go to the internet to find out. The bowstringer and the instructions that came with it are VERY ambiguous and AGAIN there is no accompanying text, only pictures. Martin is assuming the customer has a base knowledge of how to operate a bowstringer.

So, none of these issues are detrimental to the user experience, so the bow gets 4 Stars.

I bought this and had only small trouble getting the limbs on. There was some wobble until until it was strung. It’s powerful at 50lbs draw. Seems sturdy enough and easy to transport than a compound bow since it comes apart. Not too bad for the price.

Im going to keep this short.

    Pros:
I love the bow, it shoots better then any other bow I have owned.
    It looks cool.
    I would buy again.

    Cons:
The screws it came with were to big. I had to machine the shaft so the OEM screws could fit.
The string is horrible. I replaced it after shooting 3-4 times.
The stringer is also really bad.

Overall I really like how it shoots. I would but again.

I absolutely love this bow! I am 16 years old (and a girl) but this bow is perfect for me. It seems very well made – strong and sturdy – and shoots great. Perfect for beginners at an affordable price, and a lot of fun to shoot.

Good bow for beginners!, April 22, 2012

I bought this as a costume prop, but it is a functional bow. As a 24-year-old who’s been an archer since she was 4, I can tell you that Bear is one of the best brands out there. It hasn’t been around since the Great Depression for nothing! I’ve shot this bow, personally, and I like it. Simple, and great for beginners or someone who’s looking for a low-price functional target practice piece.

Bought this bow on Amazon and it seems pretty good.

Also, just to let you know, this is the BOW ONLY. Doesn’t include the arrows, etc. The picture is wrong.
