So I was just thinking I always see tons of people advocating on here for SUPER heavy arrows in the OFF chance they hit a deer’s shoulder. Basically they are saying…" Well Just in case I mess up and hit shoulder blade/bone, I want to make sure I blow right through it". That is a VERY similar argument for large cutting broadheads so those same people should be shooting VERY large cutting broadheads in the OFF CHANCE they miss the vitals and maybe they will now catch a vein/artery with their much larger cutting surface…for example a much larger cutting surface through the guts could help kill the deer faster. It is 100% known that the intestines are surrounded by veins and smaller blood vessels so YES a very large cutting mechanical will certainly cut more of those veins/blood vessels leading to a faster death in the deer (theoretically speaking)
I am not advocating super light arrows, nor am I advocating for SUPER large mechs but honestly the arguments are very similar. Both advocate for "just in case I make a bad shot" and both DO benefit you IF you do indeed make those bad shots.
Just my two cents.
