So last year i started playing with heavy arrow build but did not want to retune my bow to shoot heavy arrow exclusively. I got pretty close to perfect 500 grain arrow to bullet hole out of my bow without changing anything on the current tune by playing with spine and tip weight. It took a lot of playing around but it was kinda fun adding and subtracting weight, cutting brass inserts down. The arrow was hitting almost perfect @ 20 yards using my 30 yard mark on the spot hogg dial. @ 30 i would add 11 yards, @40 add 12 yards @50 add 13-14 yards. It was and is a fun little project i am going to continue on this year. If i am hunting the woods and farthest shot is 20-25 yards I would put the heavy arrow in and set dial to 35 yards. If i went and hunted the field i would go back to my lighter arrows and everything was as it was before. Just curious if anyone else has played with this or do i have way too much time on my hands. I was thinking of going over board and trying to get a even heavy arrow to hit where my bottom pin is indicating 37 yards? That will probable end up being more like a spear then a arrow but testing gets me out of the house.
