I originally bought this as a Halloween costume prop. Was surprised to see that this is NOT a toy. It very possible to seriously injure people with this thing. The aluminum bolts have pretty sharp ends and were able to tear clean through a pretty big pumpkin. I have not tested out the aim, but you can adjust the sight atop the bow to line it up how you want it.

Some simple assembly is required before you are able to use it. You’ll need another person to help you bend together the bow as the other person loops the string onto the limbs.

I’ve had it for nearly a month now, and it has experienced medium usage with no signs of defects. Something that does concern me, though, is that some decorative parts of the string unraveled and had to be cut off. Again they were decorative, and served no purpose for shooting, but I’m unsure for how long the string will hold up for.

The bow assembled easy enough, but the instructions failed to mention that the cocking mechanism had a lock (which it does not need) that I broke the first time I cocked it. The mechanism is held in place by your hand on the pistol grip so the lock is not necessary anyway. Other wise it would be 5 stars.

Finally a small crossbow that’s not junk! It is constructed quite well for something made in Taiwan. The bow is made of a nice composite material. The power is great and it’s fairly accurate at about 25 feet. I actually pierced 1/4 inch plywood with it so this is Not a Toy! Would be nice for home defense. The self cocking devise is really nice, and so far the string is holding up. ( about 40 shots ). I will probably use some bow string wax on it. The only downfall to this crossbow is that I haven’t fount any quality bolts to go with it yet. The black plastic ones seem to last a few more shots then the gold metallic ones. The fins break quite easily, mostly on the first shot. Highly recommend picking up an extra string and at least 20 bolts.
