Are Muck Boots Effective? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

So I just got some Muck boots (Edge Water) after reading lots of reviews and recommendation from fellow hunting buddy who’s worn and swears by them for years… Primarily for scent control before anything else. And this is the main reason I got them… Not really for warmth but for scent control. What is your opinion on that?

My first impression after wearing them around the yard and for a hike just last week is that they have a strong plastic smell?! What the heck. I thought one of the benefits and reasons for these boots existence is to be scent proof and help you stay invisible in the woods (as hard as that is already). But when I find these have a super strong plastic smell, especially on the sole… where I leave my footprint in the woods, that’s just insane. And this is after putting some miles on them in the woods, mud, etc. I gotta believe a deer is gonna smell me coming now from 3 miles away and 2 miles away from the footprints I just left. Is this some special plastic scent that deer are attracted too because I can’t think of any other reason for a boot company that markets scent control boots to have such a strong chemical/plastic scent to their product. Anyone else experience this. And what’s been your experience using these boots?

Thanks in advance!
